One critically injured in hit-and-run accident

The 29-year-old was found lying in the yellow lane of the road.

One man was left in a critical condition after a hit-and-run accident in the Olievenhoutbosch area on Sunday evening.

“ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 21:14 to find the man lying in the yellow lane of the road,” spokesperson Russell Meiring said.

The accident was said to have occurred at the R55 and Samrand intersection.

“Paramedics assessed the man and found he had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition,” he said.

The 29-year-old was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions before being transported to Kalafong Provincial Hospital in the west of Pretoria for urgent care.

The car in question was not found at the scene.

Local authorities were set to investigate further.
