R4-rifles stolen from SADF’s base in Lyttelton

19 rifles were allegedly stolen during the break-in.

An unknown number of people were allegedly taken in for questioning in connection to the break-in at the SA National Defence Force’s Lyttelton Tech Base on Tuesday.

“Investigations are underway,” spokesperson Siphiwe Dlamini said.

This after weapons were stolen at the Engineering Formation at the base.

According to information received by Rekord, 19 R4-rifles were stolen in the break-in.

The suspects allegedly gained access to the firearms by grinding the doors open.
