A group of robbers got away during a shootout at a security complex in Lynnwood on Tuesday morning.
Police spokesperson Captain Colette Weilbach said around 11:45 three armed men entered a house in the complex where they found a domestic worker.
“[They] took her to the lounge where the 80-year-old owner of the house was,” she said.
“The suspects ransacked the house and dismantled the safe from the wall.”

She said the group took some liquor and household items as well as the keys for a Mercedes Benz car.
After hearing the commotion, a vigilant neighbour contacted a security company to report suspicious activities next door.
CSI Security responded to the call and found the three men inside the yard.
“The suspects shot at the security officers who returned fire,” said Weilbach.

Brooklyn station commander, Brigadier Kushie Pietersen, commended the neighbour for being vigilant and for reporting the suspicious activities.
She said neighbourhood watches were one of the most effective ways to reduce crime in communities.
“Neighbourhood watches form part of Community Policing Forums that work in conjunction with their local police stations and help in regaining areas from criminals,” she said.
She also commended the officers from CSI Security, which forms part of the Brooklyn Security Forum, for their quick response and their bravery.
Weilbach urged anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the group to contact the Brooklyn police.
