Human remains found in Erasmia

Police are appealing to members of the public who had reported their loved ones missing to visit Erasmia police station.

Police have opened an inquest case after human remains were found in Erasmia near Laudium on Tuesday evening.

Police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said the remains were discovered at a bushy veld in Cuprene Street by local residents who immediately contacted the local police station.

“The remains will be taken in for forensic analysis which will determine the cause of death and the age of the person,” he said.

 “Circumstances surrounding this incident will be investigated.”

 Moloto appealed to members of the public, particularly residents, who had reported their loved ones missing to visit Erasmia police station or phone 012-370-1075.
