Two arrested following east high-speed car chase

Two men were arrested following a high-speed car chase on the N4 highway, east of Pretoria on Tuesday morning.
Police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller said the arrest happened thanks to a combined operation between police, flying squad and the private security tracking companies.
“I can confirm that two men were arrested after they were found in the possession of a vehicle that was stolen in a house robbery in Sunninghill earlier today,” he said.

Miller said the police flying squad were able to locate the vehicle stolen during the house robbery.
“With the help of the tracking company and police helicopter, the vehicle was found on the N4 where a high-speed car chase ensued. The suspects were stopped and arrested near the Watermeyer off-ramp.”
A plasma TV was found in the car, Miller added.

A case of suspected stolen property was opened at the Silverton police station.
“Police are investigating the possibility of linking the suspects to the house robbery that happened in Sandton, Sunninghill.”
Tshwane district commissioner Major-General Daniel Mthombeni commended all the role-players.
Traffic was heavily backup on the N4 highway following the incident.
