The Ga-Rankuwa TUT campus was shut down by protesting students on Tuesday morning.
Police were firing rubber bullets at students who threw stones at them earlier in the morning.
Students were demanding for the university dean to address them personally and hear their grievances.
The students claimed that they were yet to receive their Nfsas funds while other said the university was demanding they pay previous debts.
Protesting students were reported to be throwing stones at police monitoring the situation.
Journalists covering the scene were also pelted with rocks.
Police could not be reached for comment at the time of going to press.
