Two suspected thieves arrested in the east
While they spoke to the driver, two men jumped out of the vehicle and ran into nearby bushes.
Welbekend police arrested two men for possession of suspected house break-in implements in the east of Pretoria last week.
“Four men were travelling in a blue Opel Corsa along the R50 Road towards Delmas between 01:00 and 02:00 on Wednesday, when they were stopped by a unit,” said police spokesperson Sergeant Tsietsi Lamola.
“While they spoke to the driver, two men jumped out of the vehicle and ran into nearby bushes. The police found the other [remaining] two, aged 27 and 32, in possession of house break-in implements,” he said.
Lamola said the men will appear in court soon on a charge of possession of suspected house-breaking implements.
He said the police were also investigating if they are linked to other robberies in the area.
