
A Pretoria Central police officer was shot outside his home in Soshanguve on Monday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Colonel Brenda Muridili said the officer, who cannot be named for security reasons, was attacked as he arrived home in block BB.
“He was shot in the leg and has been hospitalised,” said Muridili
“Investigations will determine what the motive of the shooting was.”
This is the second shooting Rekord has reported in three days.

On Saturday, detective Tsietsi Samuel Teffo (37) was shot dead when he and two colleagues responded to an assault on the corner of Garsfontein and Rubenstein roads.
The father of two, who also lived in Soshanguve, was killed allegedly by a man he and his colleagues were arresting for the assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Muridili said Teffo served the SAPS for 11 years.
His alleged killer will face two counts of attempted murder and one of murder.
