Katlego Zebulon Tshoane (27) of Pretoria central is a famous African gospel artist who has mastered his art to international recognition.

Tshoane is now working with big giants in the South African music industry to shape his career.

Rekord recently caught up with Tshoane to ask him a couple of questions.

Who else in your family is a musician?

My mother, Enica, and my sister, Stephina Tshoane, are both musicians

What inspired your 2nd album?

I was inspired by the responses I received when people heard me playing my saxophone. They were encouraging me to do more to fulfil God’s calling.

What were the challenges you encountered while making your 2nd album?

I was working with people who did not have the same vision as me, and recording a self-funded album makes for a slow process.

How did you make it up to where you are now as a musician?

I put God first in everything that I do in prayer and humility.

How was your experience of visiting foreign countries for your music?

It was a great experience because it uplifts my spirit and confidence to share the talent God gave me with other people and realising though I am from a different country, my music still heals their heart.

Do you think launching your next album will be smooth?

Launching my third album will be smooth because I have gathered experience from my first and second albums. I have looked for other strategies to overcome the challenges with confidence.

Who inspired your career choice and how?

Major One inspired me to pursue my career, he supports my vision with advice, funds and also shows me other top musicians that have made it and gives me direction on how to make my standout from others.

What other instruments do you play?

I play keyboards, drums, steel drums, bass guitar, clarinet and flute.

Which other two well-known artists are you currently working with?

I am working with two top musicians who are big in the industry, Keke Phoofolo and Sipho Makhabane “The Big Fish”.
