Man gunned down in Marabastad

The victim was in the shop sewing leather seat covers when two unknown men attacked.

Pretoria Central police are investigating a case of murder after a Bangladeshi national was gunned down on Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened in 8th Street, Marabastad around 08:30, said police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe.

“The victim was in the shop busy sewing leather seat covers when two unknown men came inside. One of [the] men produced a firearm and shot at the victim while his accomplice stood at the door,” she said.

Selepe said the victim, a Bangladeshi, was shot in his lower jaw, ribs and chest.

“The victim was found in a pool of blood when police and paramedics arrived at the scene. The victim died on [the] scene.”

Selepe said the two men were on the run.
