Over R600 000 worth of property recovered in police operations

Flying squad recovers 30 Huawei battery towers in Centurion.

Two people were arrested and property worth over R600 000 was recovered in Tshwane police flying squad operations this week.

“Two suspects were arrested for possession of the stolen property at Matshelapata section, Mabopane in the north of Pretoria on Wednesday,” police spokesperson Constable Buhle Rahatji said.

The property was estimated to the value of R5 000 and was stolen from a courier company motor vehicle.

Two suspects, aged between 20 and 37, will be appearing in court soon facing charges of stolen goods.

In a different operation, the squad recovered 30 Huawei battery towers estimated to be worth around R600 000 in Centurion on Thursday.

“Officers followed up a tip-off which led them to the towers at a house at Bokang Street in Olivenhoutbosch.

She said no arrests were, however, made.

“We want to thank residents for helping us,” Rahatji said.
