Read your favourite eBook on Gauteng’s virtual library

Through the virtual library, people can access books which they can store up to 14 days.

Since you cannot go to the library to read your favourite books, the Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation has made it easy for you.

Residents are now able to read books via Gauteng’s virtual library, OverDrive.

Minister Nathi Mthethwa said with the virtual library people can access books which they can store up to 14 days.

With a subscription to an international eBook lending platform OverDrive promises to be a boon for local readers and publishers. Readers can also recommend titles that are not already on the platform.

Gauteng’s OverDrive subscription is part of the National Library of SA’s Mzansi libraries online.

Globally, OverDrive has more than 30 000 libraries in 40 countries subscribed to its platform. It offers eBooks, audiobooks and videos.

Book enthusiasts can activate their membership by sending an email to sacr.overdrive@gauteng.gov.za or signing up on OverDrive gauteng.overdrive.com
