SA positive Covid-19 cases rise to 5 951, 116 deaths
Gauteng’s Covid-19 recoveries remain at 948 and deaths at 11.

Department of Health confirmed on Friday that the positive confirmed cases in South Africa stand at 5 951 and deaths at 116.
Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize said the total number of tests conducted in the country to date is 217 552.
“In the last 24 hours, 9 992 tests were done. We are pleased to announce the new figures for recoveries stand at 2 382.”

“Regrettably, we are saddened to report a further 13 Covid-19 related deaths from the Western Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape.”
This brings the total of Covid-19 related deaths to 116.
“As we have undertaken to only report fully verified deaths, we would like to indicate that there has been a delay in assessing and verifying some of those reports,” Mkhize said.
“We wish to express our condolences to the families of the deceased and salute the healthcare workers who treated the deceased patients.”
