Three taxi owners shot dead in the north
Police suspect shooting related to ongoing taxi violence in the area.

Three taxi owners were shot and killed in Mabopane on Thursday afternoon.
Provincial police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo said a manhunt has been launched for the suspects.
“Police received a call about a shooting incident on the corner of Bushveld and August roads in Mabopane. Upon arrival, police found three men lying on the ground with gunshot wounds.”
Masondo said the victims were later certified dead by the paramedics.
He said a preliminary investigation suggests the victims were shot while having a discussion and that they are taxi owners.
“We suspect that this shooting is related to the ongoing taxi violence in the area. Three cases of murder have been opened for investigation,” Masondo said.
No arrests have been made yet.
Police are appealing to the community to come forward with any information that might help in the investigation.
