11 nabbed for stolen copper cables in West
“The suspects were arrested and have been charged with theft.”
Tshwane metro police officers arrested 11 suspects for possession of more than 140kg of copper cables in Pretoria West.
Metro spokesperson Isaac Mahamba said a minibus taxi was found parked in the middle of Es’kia Mphahlele Drive with all the suspects inside.
“We did a vehicle search and discovered the stolen copper cables,” he said.
“The suspects were arrested and have been charged with theft.”
Mahamba said it was not clear where the cables were being taken to.
“We are continuing our stop-and-search operation and patrols in local hotspots.”
