House fire affects seven patients

"With the quick response of the neighbours, residents and a local security company, the fire was quickly extinguished."

A house burned down in Doornpoort on Tuesday evening. Medi-Edge responded to the fire in a residential complex around 21:45. Six adult patients were affected by the smoke and were treated.

“An adult was treated for injuries on the hands and arms while six other adults were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation,” they said.

Medi-Edge said two of the patients required further care at the hospital and were transported by an ambulance to it.

“With the quick response of the neighbours, residents and a local security company, the fire was quickly extinguished prior to our arrival on the scene,” they said.

The Tshwane fire department was on the scene and went through the premises to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.”

The exact cause of the fire is unknown at this stage but will be investigated.
