Local north residents continue feeding families
They have assisted over 500 families in the past months and want to continue donating but that goal can only be reached if they get help.

A North resident has been working non-stop to provide food parcels to vulnerable people living in Winterveldt.
Judith Masango pleads with residents to continue donating to communities during these difficult pandemic times.
She said they have assisted over 500 families in the past months and want to continue donating but that goal can only be reached if they get help.
“Although people have responded positively to our cry for help and donated generously, because they recognised the work we do and because of their love of giving, we still appeal to the public to please continue giving,” said Masango.
“It is sad. I cannot help a lot of people anymore as I anticipated.
“We have run out of food to give. There are still a lot of people who need donations. I believe people who have already received donations have finished them.”
Masango told Rekord they faced challenges.

“People assume the food parcels we have came from the government. When they see us they approach us and think its government food because it was promised to them. I don’t blame them.
“The government has promised people food parcels and social relief grants but only a few have benefited from it, what must happen to those who did not receive anything?
“Even now there are still no food parcels from the government,” she said.
She said that despite every challenge they went through, they were still able to bless families with food.
“On Sunday we reached out to more than 11 homes and gave out food parcels.
“My pastor and client donated money for us to buy food for the families, and also held short prayer sessions with them. I believe in prayer. I know that God will provide and we will donate to other families until this pandemic ends.

“It is devastating to see families that did not get anything. Our focus is on foreigners and those who have children. But if we find a family with a lot of siblings we only have a certain potion to give.
“We plead with business owners and everyone who is willing to help to contact us, and we thank each and every person who has helped us thus far.”
