Pretoria electricity woes continue
Parts of eastern Pretoria, Moot, Mamelodi and Soshanguve have been experiencing power outages.

Parts of eastern Pretoria have been struggling with power outages for the past week, with Friday being no different.
Areas such as Wapadrand, Olympus, Garsfontein and Faerie Glen were in the dark for most of the day.
Tshwane spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said there was a trip at the Koedoesberg substation.
“Our operational team investigated and found an MV cable damaged. A team is working on it,” he said.
Ward 101 councillor Mike Strange said parts of Olympus, Leander road and some Boardwalk suburbs were without power since 21:00 last night.
“A large area supplied from the Wapadrand substation suffered an outage after one of the transformers tripped at about 18:00 due to overload,” he said.
Strange said within a few hours the electricity had tripped again.
“The systems operators (SOs) had already left the area to attend to area outages. I received word at about 14:00 that Tshwane was attending to the outage in Olympus, Boardwalk, Eros and that system operator assistance was required.
”Another outage was reported in Mooiplaats, caused by a tree that was felled on the R104, near the Pienaars River bridge.
“The tree damaged overhead cables on the Tshwane Donkerhoek rural line,” he said.
The Waltloo depot also experienced power outages that affected parts of Eersterust, Hinterland, Mamelodi east and west, Nellmapius and Soshanguve.
On Saturday a power outage left residents in the dark after trips at the Willows substation, Mamelodi West, Mamelodi East substation, Mooikloof substation, Mamelodi 2 substation to T3 Dlangamandla substation were experienced.
Residents are urged to ensure that none essential supplies are switched off.
