Worker killed in Cullinan farm attack

“The other workers were tied up with cable ties and one of them was forced to open the main house for the attackers.”

A worker was killed and other workers tied up during an attack on a farm in Dewagendrift in Cullinan in the far north of Pretoria on Tuesday evening.

The owner of the farm was not home when his workers were attacked by three suspects at around 08:00, said Cullinan CPF chairperson Karen Yssel.

“According to the information we have, two of the attackers were armed,” Yssel said.
Yssel said one of the workers was shot dead through his room door.

“The other workers were tied up with cable ties and one of them was forced to open the main house for the attackers.”

Yssel said the attackers loaded the stolen items from the house onto the property owner’s trailer and fled the scene.
“The workers only managed to free themselves and call for help at about 04:00 this morning.”
