North DJ’s EP in the pipeline
“Keep on believing in what you are doing and never lose faith.”

A local artist from Soshanguve will be releasing his EP at the end of July thanks to Covid-19.
Thembelihle Mgwenya (25), commonly known as Hope-TG by his fans, said he learnt to push his production especially during this Covid-19 storm.
“This lockdown affected me by limiting me in working with other artists but I am working on an EP that I will be dropping at month-end,” said Mgwenya.
The EP is called Ashes and one of his singles has already been released on 3 July.
Mgwenya said his love for music started at age 10.
“It began as nothing serious, but as I got older I started playing at local clubs even though I was still in high school.
“I could not hold back my love for music, I had to share my talent,”

Hope-TG is a DJ and producer and plays Afro-House music.
His sound is influenced by popular artists like Caiiro, Da Capo and DJ Tira.
“I met Dr. Malinga in 2016 during my set and he signed me under his record company ‘Lingas Entertainment’ for three years.
“I learnt the most about the industry from him,” he said.
After Mgwenya matriculated, he registered for a Bachelor degree in Education at the Tshwane University of Technology.
“For now I do not have any qualification, but I am doing my final year simultaneously with music.”
He said the support he is getting from his family, friends and fans is what keeps him going.

“It is not easy to meet the right artists that boost you to get to the industry but the support that I get will take me far.”
Mgwenya motivated upcoming artists to keep pushing as long as they love music production.
“Keep on believing in what you are doing and never lose faith.”
Mgwenya warned there are artists who will promise you the world while deceiving you, that is why young upcoming artists need to take caution.
“It takes a lot of time, but eventually you will make it,” he concluded.
