Police probe murder of couple at estate near Pretoria
The lifeless bodies of a 57-year-old man and his 56-year-old wife were found at their home on Tuesday.
Police are investigating a case of murder, attempted murder and house robbery following the killing of an Elandsfotein couple whose lifeless bodies were found at their home on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters said that a 57-year-old man and his 56-year-old wife were killed, while their daughter – whose age was yet to be determined – sustained serious injuries.
“It is alleged that the 28-year-old son of the deceased couple woke up to gunshots in the house at Fly Inn estate, Elandsfontein near Olifantsfontein. On responding, the son allegedly found his father downstairs with gunshot wounds to the upper body and his mother and sister upstairs, both shot.
“The sister was airlifted to a hospital for urgent medical attention,” Peters said.
Some items were reportedly stolen from the house including a television set, two MacBooks, and a laptop.
“No suspects have been arrested,” she said.
Police have appealed to anyone who may have information that could lead to the apprehension of the suspects to report to their nearest police station or call the Crime Stop number 08600-10111.
