“The pandemic and lockdown have undoubtedly had an impact on customers visiting branches.”

Absa has temporarily closed its Glenfair branch to allow staff members to assist at busier, high-traffic branches during Covid-19.

Absa branches in close proximity to Glenfair include Menlyn Park, Menlyn Maine, Woodlands and The Grove.

All these branches will remain open.

This as the bank contended with the effects of the pandemic that has seen a few other branches close as well.

Closing the branches as well as ensuring that Covid-19 cases were detected and that staff members were quarantined was critical in combating the spread of the virus, according to managing executive Tshiwela Mhlantla.

“As we contend with the effects of Covid-19, delivering a seamless banking experience, whilst ensuring that our colleagues and customers are safe, remains our main priority,” she said.

“The pandemic and lockdown have undoubtedly had an impact on customers visiting branches.”

She said to optimally ensure that they met changing customer demand at various branches, Absa was continually changing trends, customer demand and feedback.
