Police arrest two, seized stolen laptops in Centurion
"The suspected stolen laptop was located, and in the process over a hundred more laptops were discovered."
Two men accused of having 129 stolen laptops in their possession have appeared in the Pretoria magistrate’s court.
Constable Tumisang Moloto of Wierdabrug SAPS said police and Tshwane K9-unit arrested the men in Valhalla.
“Officers followed up on information of a laptop which had been reported stolen in Lyttelton in May this year,” he said.
“Following a tracking device, it led them to premises in Tasman Road where the men were apprehended.
“The suspected stolen laptop was located and in the process more than 100 laptops were discovered.
“However, the pair could not produce trading certificates and they were immediately arrested,” said Moloto.

A case of possession of suspected stolen property will form part of the ongoing investigation.
A reliable source, who wished to stay anonymous, said the suspects supplied laptops to a well-known tech-commerce industry company.
“Upon further investigation, the laptop was identified as a stolen SAPS laptop. Many of them have already been confirmed stolen with supporting case numbers,” the source said.
“We can confirm that laptops were recovered and reported to the Lyttelton precinct,” said police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller.
“The investigation is still underway.”
