Covid-19 cases in SA rise to 682 215

This is an increase of 926 new cases identified since Sunday.

South Africa now has 682 215 confirmed Covid-19 cases, the Department of Health announced on Monday.

This is an increase of 926 new cases identified since Sunday.

There were 40 more deaths recorded, bringing the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in the country to 17 016.

According to data released by the Department of Health, 615 684 recoveries have been recorded.

In total, 4 280 340 Covid-19 tests have been conducted.

The following confirmed Covid-19 cases have been detected in each province, according to the data released on Sunday:

– Western Cape: 111 517 cases

– Gauteng: 221 061 cases

– KwaZulu-Natal: 119 694 cases

– Eastern Cape: 89 964 cases

– Limpopo: 15 837 cases

– Mpumalanga: 27 625 cases

– North West: 29 979 cases

– Northern Cape: 17 876 cases

– Free State: 48 662 cases
