Police seek help in finding two missing east men

Police asked anyone who can help with any information related to the missing cases to notify the police or both families.

Two east families are seeking the community’s help in locating their loved one who recently went missing.

Joseph Ndibane Masilela (63) went missing on 24 October, according to police spokesperson Constable Lethabo Mashiloane.

He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt, blue work suit trouser, blue cap and black shoes.

His son Themba Masilela from Mahube extension 21, Mamelodi East, who reported him missing on 27 October said his father came to visit him for a couple days when he went missing.

Themba said he prepared a meal for his father on the day, whereafter he went shopping at the mall.

“I expected him to sleep after eating the food, but on my return from the shops my father had already left and safely locked the house,” said Themba.

“I am worried about the whereabouts of my father since he has left his medication behind. We have searched everywhere for him around the community, shopping malls and hospitals.

“We are scared that something bad might have happened to him, because his cellphone is also off,” he said.

Themba said his aunt in Bethal, Mpumalanga, received a call from his father asking if she was at her home, but unfortunately the cellphone went off.

In a separate, unrelated incident, Davison Phiri Dube went missing on 26 October.

His niece Barati Dube reported him missing, saying the last time she saw her uncle was on the morning of the day in question.

Davison Phiri Dube went missing on 26 October.

He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt when he went missing. No other description could be given of the clothes he was wearing.

“My son told me that they were both going to Johannesburg with his friend, but he never came back,” said Mdakane.

Barati Dube said this was the first time his uncle left without saying where he was going.

The family was afraid something might have happened to him and they are desperately searching for him.

“We have searched everywhere for my uncle. We even asked other family members about his whereabouts, but they have not seen him,” said Barati.

Police urged anyone who can help with any information related to the missing cases to notify the investigation officer detective Constable Phalamasweu on 084-998-4449.
