Ga-Rankuwa police investigating drive-by shooting

Ga-Rankuwa police are investigating after a middle-aged man and woman were shot by unknown suspects in zone 1 on Tuesday morning.

Both victims were apparently walking along the main road when a white car stopped and opened fire, hitting them in their upper bodies, according to police spokesperson Captain Mathews Nkoadi.

The car then sped off.

“The woman succumbed to her injuries on the scene while the man was rushed to George Mukhari hospital for treatment.”

Nkoadi said the motive for the attack was unknown and under investigation.

In a separate incident, a 24-year-old man was found dead in the bushes of zone 23 on Tuesday.

Nkoadi said the victim had signs of struggle on both hands and his body.
