Laudium man nabbed for murder

The victim was stabbed following an argument.

A Laudium man was arrested for murder over the weekend after he allegedly stabbed another man following an argument.

Laudium police spokesperson Sergeant Simon Chokoe said a fight involving the two men broke out in Itireleng informal settlement on Sunday afternoon.

Apparently both men had stab wounds.

“It is alleged that the 23-year-old man was stabbed and wounded fatally, while the other only had a stab wound on his upper body,” he said.

Chokoe said the victim was rushed to hospital, but later succumbed to his injuries.

“The suspect was later arrested and is expected to appear in court soon.”

In a separate incident over the weekend in Laudium, a 47-year old was arrested for selling liquor without a licence.

The alcohol was confiscated and the suspect appeared before he Atteridgeville magistrate’s court.
