East residents invited to CPF annual meeting

The implementation of community patrollers in the sector and the festive season safety are some of the issues to be discussed.

Residents in the east of Pretoria are invited to attend the Brooklyn police and the sector 4 CPF’s annual general meeting this month.

The implementation of community patrollers and festive season safety are some of the issues to be discussed, according to police spokesperson Captain Colette Weilbach.

“The SAPS is using the sector policing concept to identify policing needs in geographical areas,” Weilbach said.

The forum consists of the general public and residents as well as local businesses, local councillors, resident associations, the Tshwane metro police and other interested parties.

Weilbach said the community’s involvement improved the relationship between the police and the community.

Sector 4 include Waterkloof Ridge, Monument Park, Sterrewag, Erasmusrand, Waterkloof Heights and Waterkloof Park.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, 26 November 2020 at 18:00 for 18:30 at the Dutch Reformed Church, 79 Eland Road in Monument Park.
