Mabopane police station welcomes new commander
He brings with him a great wealth of experience in both the operational policing and administrative environment.
Mabopane police have welcomed the appointment of new station commander Colonel Moeti Rapitsi after his predecessor left the position towards the end of last year.
Police spokesperson Constable Lerato Booysens said Rapitsi was appointed as station commander last month.
Rapitsi joined the police service in 1987 and has more than 33 years of service.
He has a national diploma in police administration and a B-Tech degree in policing. He was appointed as a Colonel in 2017.
Rapitsi has previously served as station commander at various police stations across the country from 1998.
“He brings with him a great wealth of experience in both operational policing and administrative environment.
“He has vowed to work with the Mabopane community through the CPF and various other stakeholders to ensure that residents are safe.”
She said the following will be prioritised as a matter of urgency:
– High police visibility targeting crime hotspots
– Prompt response and responsiveness to complaints lodged at the Mabopane police station
– Timeous feedback to complaints and cases lodged at the station
– Prompt consequential management in relation to misuse and/or abuse of station resources
– Personal accountability by all officers at the station
“Join hands with us in our fight against crime,” Colonel Rapitsi asked residents.
“This can be done by providing crime-related information to us through continuous engagements between the community and the police as well as concerted efforts to enhance communication and mutual understanding.
