Man killed after vehicle lands in Apies River
Two accidents at same spot at Apies River, one fatal
A man was killed in a crash in the north of Pretoria on Friday evening after his vehicle veered off the road and landed in the Apies River.
The crash happened at around 20:00 at Paul Kruger Street, Die Poort.
“Upon arrival, medics found that the driver was trapped and showed no signs of life,” said Best Care spokesperson Xander Loubser.
“The fire brigade had to extricate him from the vehicle to recover the body.”
Loubser said the cause of the accident was unknown. On Saturday, another accident happened at the same spot.
“A taxi landed in the Apies River around midnight,” Loubser said.
“The occupants inside the taxi managed to get out in time before it was submerged under the water.”
No injuries were reported.
