Local family seeks public assistance in locating missing loved one

“He went out to ask where he could get water, it was in those weeks where we did not have water in Soshanguve. He never came back,” said his mother, Dorah Moyo.

A family from Soshanguve GG are seeking public help in locating the whereabouts of their loved one, Sipho Even Moyo, after he went missing on July 10.

Moyo was last seen leaving his home to go and ask a local tuck shop where the water trucks were stationed.

This was during the water shortages that hit Tshwane three weeks ago.

“He went out to ask where he could get water, it was in those weeks where we did not have water in Soshanguve. He never came back,” said his mother, Dorah Moyo.

“I am not okay at all. I keep asking myself what is happening with him or what might have happened to him.

“He left without a phone so we do not know where and how we are going to look for him,” the distressed mother said.

“We would appreciate it if anyone who might have seen him come forward with information.”

She said they had also tried to contact his friends about his whereabouts but they all said they have not seen him around.

“He was a DJ but he had been struggling to make ends meet recently. His friends said they have not seen him in a while as he was spending most of his time in the house.”

Sipho Even Moyo have been missing since July 10.

His mother said they have also not found the strength to tell his 20-year-old child that he is missing.

“The child does not stay with him and we haven’t told the child that he is missing.”

His father Sello Patrick Moyo said the situation has caused him to fall into depression and he has also been struggling to sleep.

On Wednesday evening his father said he had just been out to look for him but still had no luck.

“I have been walking around the community looking for him since he went missing hoping that I might bump into him. I have been to taxi ranks, Mabopane station and all over just to look for him. I miss so much about him. I have also been putting posters up around shops in the community hoping that someone might call,” Sello said.

“He was in the music industry and has been in the United Kingdom for a while. When he came back, He worked with the likes of Dr Malinga. He had recently run out of finances but we had been helping him.”

At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing grey tracksuit pants, a navy zipped jersey, black and white Nike tekkies and a black striped beanie.
