Tshwane to vaccinate its staff members
“Tshwane metro police officials will be first in line and will be followed by all employees aged 35 and above.”
The Tshwane metro is to start with the vaccination of staff members from Monday, August 2.
Metro spokesperson Selby Bokaba said employees would be prioritised based on risk exposure during their provision of essential services to the communities.
“The programme will follow the age group categories as outlined by the national department of health and the Gauteng provincial government,” he said.
“Tshwane metro police officials will be first in line and will be followed by all employees aged 35 and above.”
He advised all eligible employees to register on the electronic vaccination data system (EVDS) and they could visit any of the city’s 31 vaccination sites of the department of health.
Bokaba said the metro would also be running a parallel process with the department of health by making use of an emergency services mobile bus that will enable the city to provide vaccination services to its employees throughout the seven regions.
