Nine injured in Moot accident

One person from the taxi was trapped and had to be extricated by firefighters.

Nine people were injured in an accident in Capital Park on Monday morning.

Tshwane emergency services spokesperson Charles Mabaso said the accident happened around 07:00 in Malherbe and Paul Kruger streets and involved a taxi and a vehicle.

One person from the taxi was trapped and had to be extricated by firefighters. He suffered moderate injuries and was transported to hospital,” Mabaso said.

He said that eight other people suffered minor injuries.

Initial reports from Tshwane metro police indicated that a bus and two taxis were involved, but Mabaso said the feedback he received indicated that only a vehicle and a taxi were involved.

The cause of the accident was unknown.
