Two killed in ‘horrific’ Centurion crash
“On arrival, paramedics were met with carnage as the wreckages of two light motor vehicles occupied the width of the roadway. A motorcycle was found lying on the shoulder of the roadway.”
Centurion emergency workers were met with “horrifying scenes” on the R55 road as two people were killed in a multi-vehicle collision, while others sustained serious to moderate injuries on Sunday evening.
Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen said paramedics responded to the scene at around 23:30.
“On arrival, paramedics were met with carnage as the wreckages of two light motor vehicles occupied the width of the roadway.
“A motorcycle was found lying on the shoulder of the roadway.”

Van Reenen said on inspection the driver and passenger of one of the vehicles, were found in their vehicle having sustained fatal injuries and were declared deceased by paramedics.
The deceased are believed to be in their 40s.
A male motorcyclist, aged about 25, was also found a few meters from his bike in a serious condition, he said.
“Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilise him before he was taken to a nearby hospital for further care.”

Van Reenen said the driver of the second light motor vehicle sustained moderate injuries and was treated and stabilised before being taken to hospital by a private ambulance service.
“At this stage, the facts surrounding the incident and the events preceding it are unclear and will form the subject of a South African Police Services investigation.”
