Akasia police are looking for two men who hijacked a motorist driving a Volkswagen Jetta at a KFC drive-thru in Karenpark on Thursday evening.
“The men came up to the front window, pointing a firearm at the motorist and ordering him to the backseat of the vehicle,” said police spokesperson Constable Lindiwe Mdluli.
“They then got into the car and drove the victim to Mabopane where they dropped him off.”
Mdluli said the hijackers then drove away with the car.
“A hijacking docket has been opened for investigation,” she said.
Residents were urged to be cautious and vigilant when they went to buy food at fast-food restaurants with drive-thru facilities.
KFC has yet to comment.
