Suspected would-be robbers arrested in Elarduspark
The three suspects were charged for contravention of the disaster management act and possession of house-breaking equipment.
Police have arrested three men on the suspecion they were on their way to commit a crime in Elarduspark on Saturday morning.
Polce spokesperson Captain Dave Miller said Lyttelton police were performing crime prevention duties when they noticed a suspicious silver VW Polo traveling along Nellmapius Drive towards Elarduspark.
“When the members made a u-turn to establish why the vehicle was travelling after the curfew, it began to speed away. After a short high speed chase, the vehicle was stopped at the croner of Delmas Road and Solomon Mahlangu Drive,” Miller said.
“When the members searched the vehicle it was found to contain suspected house-breaking equipment.”
The three suspects were charged for contravention of the disaster management act (curfew) and possession of house-breaking equipment.
