Expect possible delays in rubbish removal, says Tshwane metro

Residents are requested to leave bins outside and to report uncollected bins to customer care.

Tshwane residents might experience delays in rubbish removal as new waste removal contractors get to know the areas and routes they have been allocated, MMC has warned.

“Bins may not be lifted as normally expected,” said Department of Environment and Agriculture Management MMC Dana Wannenburg.

He said due to the appointment of new service providers under the auspices of the SS04 and SS05 waste management tenders, a service interruption was being experienced.

The interruption has affected household waste collection, site management at garden refuse and landfill sites.

Residents were asked to leave bins outside and to report any uncollected bins to customer care on 012 358 9999 or to customercare@tshwane.gov.za with the subject line: Waste bin/s not lifted.

Please include the following information:

– Customer or account holder’s full name and surname, as on the City of Tshwane utility account.

– Account number.

– Full street address, suburb and region, as on the utility account.

– Contact number and e-mail address.

– Date not lifted.
