Rietgat police bust 38 suspects in week
"Three were apprehended for breaking the lockdown regulations while two were locked up for dealing with drugs."
Rietgat police arrested 38 suspects for various crimes this past week, three of them for breaking lockdown rules.
Captain Stephen Maluleka said among those arrested two were locked up for dealing with drugs.
Other offences included: assault common, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, possession of drugs, theft out of motor vehicle, business robbery, theft, pointing of a firearm, malicious damage to property, contravention of protection order, drunk driving, common assault, burglary at residential premises, illegal immigration and interfering with police duties.
Rietgat station commander Colonel Stephina Nkosi praised police officers for their extra effort in ensuring that wanted suspects were nabbed and charged.
Nkosi extended her gratitude to the community members for their continued support in informing the police about criminal activities and the whereabouts of wanted suspects in the precinct.
Maluleka said all arrested suspects will appear in the Soshanguve magistrate’s court soon.
