Women in the Moot celebrated for dedication towards children’s welfare
"Whenever anything child-related happens within the Moot area as well as the other police stations you cover, we can always call on the Moot FSC to assist our children."
In commemoration of Women’s Month, women who deal with cases of sexual and physical abuse of children in the Moot’s dedication was celebrated at Combrink Park in Villieria on Wednesday.
Child Protection Hotline’s Danie van Loggerenberg said that these women’s work does not go unnoticed.
“We are privileged to have all the ladies here. Whenever anything child-related happens within the Moot area as well as the other police stations you cover, we can always call on the Moot FSC to assist our children.
“I work countrywide, and you are one of the top FCS offices and workers in terms of getting help and even when it does not fall under your areas, you are always willing to lend a hand.
“We have a team consisting of a social worker and attorneys.
“When the kids are having a tough time, we have a team to assist them,” he said.
The team members each received a goody bag and cupcakes to honour them for their commitment to the roles that they play in children’s lives.
“We appreciate your work. You are women of steel. It can’t be an easy job with some of the cases you have to deal with daily. It is an emotionally tough job. The job never ends, and it takes a toll and that is why would like to show our appreciation,” said Ancelize van der Kooi of Kilnerpark Security.
Van der Kooi added that from their side they would like to say thank you.
“We see what you do and we hear you and we are always willing to assist when you need us.
“We acknowledge the work that you do and the amazing women that you are. For that, we celebrate you today. Whenever you need our support, you can always count on us,” she said.
Susan Andrews of Villieria CPF said that they want to thank those who look after “our children”.
