Another dumped foetus found in north on same day

Another foetus was discovered in the Kameeldrift policing precinct on the same day.

Police are investigating after two foetuses were found on the same day in Kameelsdrift last week Wednesday.

Earlier this week, Rekord reported about a foetus that was dumped in a dustbin by an unknown woman driving an SUV on the same day.

In the latest reported incident, mere hours apart, a man discovered a foetus in a toilet at a plot in the area.

“If there is a woman who recently had a miscarriage in that area, we urge her to inform us of the miscarriage so we can arrange medical assistance for her,” said police spokesperson Sergeant Mavis Sindane.

“As the police, we are pleading with our community members not to dispose of foetuses. They must rather seek assistance if they see they had a miscarriage.”

Earlier in the week, she said they were looking for an unidentified woman in connection with the discovery of a foetus in a dustbin at a shopping centre near the Moloto Road and Sefako Makgatho Drive intersection.

“We need help in locating her,” Sindane said.

“Anyone who has more information about her should please contact their local police station.”

A homeless man in the vicinity had reportedly seen someone driving a white Toyota Prado throwing a black plastic bag into a dustbin.

“According to the man, the woman was wearing a long brown jacket. After throwing the black plastic bag into the dustbin, the woman went back to her car and drove off,” Sindane said.

“The homeless man then went to the dustbin to check the contents of the black plastic bag and discovered the foetus.”

An inquest docket was subsequently opened for investigation.

Anyone with more information regarding the dumping of the foetuses was urged to contact the Kameeldrift police on 012 819 8200.
