Tablets for top learners
Lehlabile school learners are encouraged to work hard on their schoolwork.
A local foundation has made the generous donation of 14 computer tablets to needy learners of Lehlabile secondary school last week Friday.
Evah Mokwape, the founder of the Mokwape Foundation and former vice-captain of the Banyana Banyana squad, said it was all thanks to MTN who made the tablets available.
“The tablets will help the learners with their schoolwork,” said Mokwape.

Mokwape said her NPO made the generous donations after MTN asked her to help identify a school in Mamelodi and the teachers helped with identifying the learners.
The identified learners received tablets with 3Gb day-time and 3Gb night-time data for the next 24 months.

The deputy-principal of the school, Kgoroshi Mashifane said the school did not expect the donations, especially during this difficult time.
“We are also fortunate to have the former Banyana Banyana vice-captain look after our school and our learners,” said Mashifane.

“The tablets will help the top learners with their schoolwork and also assist with communications especially with teachers since they spend a lot of time at home,” he said.
Mashifane added that the gadgets will also motivate other learners to work hard and focus on their schoolwork.
The Evah Mokwape Foundation was started in 2017 to help young future stars in different sports as well as assisting the community with social issues they face daily.
Local ward councillor Collen Marishane also encouraged the learners to work hard and take care of the tablets.
