During operations held on Friday, police recovered a Volvo truck that was reportedly hijacked in Hendrina, Mpumalanga. The truck was recovered on a plot near the Kameeldrift area.
“The police seized four other vehicles because they suspect their vehicle identification numbers were tampered with,” said Shibambo.
Law enforcement also reports recovering a revolver on the ground while they were still combing the scene of one of the houses located on the plot.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the would-be occupants of the plot left in a hurry, possibly fleeing from the police as they left everything behind,” he said.
The police have opened an investigation into the occupants of the plot.
All other suspects arrested during the operations will be appearing in Cullinan, Mamelodi, Hatfield and Pretoria magistrate’s courts on Monday.
