Capital park man’s murder accused requests legal aid

Capital Park resident Jaco Geldenhuys‘ body was found in Rayton in July.

The man accused of murdering Capital Park resident Jaco Geldenhuys, appeared in court again this week.

Martin Kichenbrand appeared in the Bronkhorstspruit regional court on Monday and applied for legal aid.

Previously, Kichenbrand had refused legal aid, opting to defend himself in court.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana previously said Kichenbrand had indicated that he wanted to plea.

“However, we cannot confirm if he will indeed plea,” Mahanjana told Rekord.

The case was again postponed for further investigation.

Kichenbrand was expected back at court on October 19.

The 32-year-old Geldenhuys’ body was found in Rayton, outside Pretoria in July.
