Nu Metro: What’s new at the movies

Get ready for a Marvel-inspired battle with an edgy twist: Venom is back and this time he’s hungrier than ever.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is the new movie opening at Nu Metro cinemas in Pretoria from Friday – including Menlyn Park’s larger-than-life Xtreme cinema with Ultra HD visuals and Dolby Atmos sound.

The spectacular new sword-wielding medieval drama from director Ridley Scott, The Last Duel, also starts showing in select cinemas with an impressive all-star cast: Jodie Comer, Adam Driver, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck!

Nu Metro Menlyn Park is now open seven days a week, with more shows to select from under lockdown level 1. All other Nu Metro cinemas are open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Venom: Let There be Carnage (16 LV)

Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is still struggling to co-exist with the shape-shifting extra-terrestrial Venom. He returns to face his arch-nemesis, the serial killer Cletus Kasady aka “Carnage” (Woody Harrelson), and stop his reign of terror, in the action-packed thriller, Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

The Last Duel (16 LNSV)

[Showing at Nu Metro Menlyn Park and Woodlands Boulevard]

The Last Duel is a dramatic and epic tale of betrayal and vengeance set against the brutality of 14th-century France from the director of Gladiator. Knight Jean de Carrouges and his squire Jacques Le Gris are ordered to fight to the death by King Charles VI, after Carrouges accuses Le Gris of raping his wife.
