Mother worried sick as daughter, 15, missing for over seven weeks

"I cannot think straight anymore. All I want, is to find my daughter, safe and unharmed."

The mother of a 15-year-old Eersterust girl, who was last seen on October 28, is worried sick about her daughter’s whereabouts.

Taahirah Jacobs was only reported missing by her family on Monday, November 22 as they thought that she would return home.

“I am going mad,” devastated mother Lee-Anne Jacobs said.

“I cannot think straight anymore. All I want is to find my daughter, safe and unharmed.”

Jacobs said that they searched for her, but as time went by, they decided to file a missing report at the police.

“Taahirah is my only daughter.

“We have searched for her in Eersterust, East-Lynne and Silverton, but with no luck.”

Her mother said that the community and the police assisted them during this devastating time.

“It is almost Christmas. We don’t know if she’s been abducted or got involved with the wrong friends and might be scared to come home as she will not know what we as parents will say to her.

“I do not want to think about it, but what if my child is already dead?

“I cannot think straight. I am heartbroken,” she said.

“We have spoken to her friends, but no one knows what happened to her or where she was on the night of her disappearance,” Jacobs added.

A man who sells vegetables in Eersterust has informed the family that he saw her on the back of a truck.

“According to this man, the truck was on its way to Mamelodi, but it [clue] was a dead end.”

The teenager is medium-built, light in complexion, average height and has long black hair.

According to Sergeant Sam Shibambo, during her time of disappearance, she was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

“She is a learner at Prosperitus Secondary school in Eersterust.

“Anyone who might know her whereabouts, is requested to call the police on the following numbers on 064 684 5162 or Eersterust SAPS on 012 806 1020/21,” said Shibambo.

He said that all relevant search parties have been made aware to be on the lookout for Taahirah.

“As a parent myself, it is painful not knowing where your child is, but we are doing everything we can to assist the family to track her down,” he said.
