United defender completes his degree

SuperSport United defender Siyabonga Nhlapo has recently completed his Sports Management degree.
The club announced that the 32-year-old defender was set to graduate next year in April after completing his studies last month.
Nhlapo, who is one of the hard-working members of the United squad, had to find a balance between his studies and football where he often studied during camp and after training sessions.
“It was difficult, in most cases I would use any opportunity like after training sessions. I was lucky because I attended night classes in most cases. Also, I would do assignments at the camp,” he said.
Nhlapo enrolled for four years at the Vaal University of Technology where he earlier completed his Sports Management diploma.

“At the moment there are not many graduates in the Premier Soccer League (PSL). I’m using this opportunity and I want to put my foot on the door as soon as I stop playing football. I just need a mentor after playing football because you can’t have internship or in-service training without qualification.
“I thought long and hard about it because I knew that I’m going to get bored after my playing days are over. So, I decided to go with something that is in line with my current job,” Nhlapo said.
