Owner of Pretoria east garden centre loses Covid-19 battle
"We can only imagine how beautiful heaven’s gardens will be now that you are there."

Owner of Plant Paradise Garden centre in Rubenstein Drive in Moreleta Park in the east of Pretoria, DM Hoffman, passed away due to Covid-19 on Wednesday, December 15.
The 52-year-old, who suffered from diabetes, was admitted to hospital about five months ago, and never recovered.
His memorial service will take place at NG Pretoria-Oosterlig in Waterkloof Glen on Tuesday.

Out of respect for Hoffman, the centre will be closed on the day of his memorial service.
Hoffman has been part of the garden centre for over 25 years.
He had a garden centre in Groblersdal where after he moved to a premises in Lynnwood.

His wife Marionette said his death was the hardest announcement she ever had to make.
“With teardrops running down my face, I want to inform all our valued customers of DM’s passing.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of this gentle giant and family man.
“You were a husband, brother, father, uncle and so much more to a lot of people. You fought a big battle and deserve to rest,” she said.
She said that DM was the best mentor, manager and friend anyone could have asked for.
“It is very difficult for us who are left behind, but we know he is in a better place. We will continue your legacy here at Plant Paradise and make sure your memory lives on in all our hearts.
“We can only imagine how beautiful heaven’s gardens will be now that you are there.
“Too well loved to ever be forgotten.
“I know you are in our hearts now forever and guiding us from above. Rest in peace our dearest DM, until we meet again,” Marionette said.
She said that her husband was her hero.
DM leaves behind his daughter Danmari, son Danré, his brother Dirk and his sister Hettie.
