Soshanguve police donates school shoes to learners
“We could not wait for Mandela Day to donate because we saw the need to change what is visible within the community.”
The Soshanguve police station visited Entokozweni primary school in Soshanguve on Tuesday, April 26 to educate learners about drug and substance abuse.
They also donated school shoes to the learners, said police spokesperson Constable Nhlanhla Zondi.
Zondi said the school identified 10 learners in need of school shoes.

“The initiative was started by SAPS Soshanguve social crime prevention co-ordinator Warrant Officer Nancy Makua, in the form of donations from colleagues and local business owners.
“We could not wait for Mandela Day to donate because we saw the need to change what is visible within the community.”
Zondi added that the station’s urgency to donate was motivated by Nelson Mandela saying “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.
“Bullying at schools is often caused by drug and alcohol abuse.”
He added that it was important to advise the learners to refrain from using drugs so that they can focus on schoolwork as well as respect each other.
The Entokozweni primary school principal Michael Keetse thanked the police for visiting the school and for the donation.
