Mamelodi girl still missing after two weeks

She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, maroon tracksuit pants, and fluffy pink push ins.

A Mamelodi family has asked the public for help in finding their daughter who has been missing since May 21.

Atlegang Mooko (13) of Skierlik informal settlement in Mamelodi was last seen walking to a neighbouring spaza shop where her mother had sent her to buy bread. She never came back.

She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, maroon tracksuit pants, and fluffy pink push ins.

Atlegang is a Nellmapius secondary school Grade 8 learner, light in complexion and slender with curly Afro hair.

Her mother Frieda Maphutha said she searched everywhere for her daughter including at her friend’s place, school and generally around Nellmapius.

She said this is the first time her daughter has gone missing.

She said she had reported her daughter missing at the Skierlik mobile police station the following day but the police reportedly were not able to open a case.

The local police had yet to respond to requests for comment on why the case was not opened.

Maphutha pleaded with her daughter to please come back home, life is not the same without her home.

She said her other daughters had told her they last saw her with a boy called Bongaan or Thirteen.

She further said her daughter was missing out on her school work and was supposed to be writing her midterm examinations.

If you think you might have seen Atlegang or know her whereabouts, please contact Maphutha on 078 5032 8444.
