Three arrested for tampering with essential infrastructure in the West

One suspect was arrested for damaging and tampering with essential infrastructure, illegal connection and resisting arrest.

The Tshwane metro police arrested three persons for tampering with essential infrastructure in Pretoria West on Friday.

Two suspects were arrested for illegal electricity connection and were charged with possession of suspected stolen cables, according to Tshwane metro spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba.

“Another suspect was arrested for damaging and tampering with essential infrastructure, illegal connection and resisting arrest,” he said.

Mahamba applauded the team and said they will continue to fight the plague of cable theft.

He urged community members to report cable theft on 012 358 1550 or go to the client service centre in Gezina at the Sanab (South African Narcotics Bureau) building.

The building is at the corner of Frederika Street and Johan Heyns Drive.

“All information reported will be treated with confidentiality,” he said.
